Why Us?

We at Spinal and Sports Care Clinic have a special passion for treating childhood conditions. Dr. Brittany Rush received specialized post-graduate training in the treatment of children as young as just a few hours old. Our treatments include:

  • Both manual and low force chiropractic treatments
  • Activator method: this method uses an instrument that delivers a precise thrust that can be calibrated to be safe for even the smallest of babies
  • Soft tissue therapy
  • Therapeutic exercise including posture coaching. Many kids respond to our coaching better than parents or teachers constantly reminding them to “Sit up straight.”

In addition to treating kids we also strive to educate parents, OBs, midwives, doulas and other birth professionals on the importance of chiropractic care throughout pregnancy. We use the Webster Technique to evaluate and treat the pelvis of pregnant patients in order to remove hindrances that might slow the birth process.

Not So Common Conditions

Along with neck and back pain and other commonly treated musculoskeletal conditions there is also a long list of other conditions which have been shown to be helped by chiropractic treatment. These conditions are helped because as you remove interference on nerves and the nervous system with chiropractic adjustments then full strength signals are able to be sent to the organs from the brain, and vice versa, as well as the muscles, thus optimizing function.

For instance, the nerves that come from the 7th thoracic vertebral level (T7), which is located between the bottom of the shoulder blades send and receive signals from the stomach. When there is misalignment of T7 which is putting pressure on the nerves (subluxation) this can refer pain to the stomach. The reverse can also be true, issues in the stomach can refer pain to T7.

Children are especially susceptible to these conditions but also respond very quickly, sometimes instantly, to proper treatment.

Research on some not so common conditions chiropractic has been known to help:

  1. Colic
  2. Scoliosis and Spinal Screening
  3. Ear Infections
