Chiropractic Education

Just what does it take to become a Chiropractor?  I get asked often how long I went to school and just where those chiropractic schools  are  – as you don’t see those programs at any of the state universities.

To qualify for one of the 18 chiropractic colleges you have to finish at least an AA degree, which is similar to premed studies.  Many people finish some type of bachelors of Science program (Sports Science, Biology or Kinesiology etc.) before starting the DC program.

Chiropractic has many specialties and techniques just like the medical profession e.g. sports medicine, pediatrics, Neurology, radiology etc.  For someone looking to get into the profession, knowing what you want to specialize in (if at all) will help you decide which schools to consider.
